Most of today’s bangers are little more than glorified instructions re: how and where to drop it, but occasionally, people do still write songs that mean something. We give those songwriters a fair amount of leeway as far as the colorful language and metaphors they use to describe a feeling, a relationship or dropping it. Sure, fine, it lifts you up where you belong, it’s a battlefield, it’s like it’s hot.
But sometimes, they go too far. They stray into territory artists have no business in, like physics or manual labor, and the “metaphor” is so wrong that it just distracts you from the emotions you’re supposed to feel. Suddenly, you’re googling instead of boogying. So when user dodorextoast asked r/AskReddit, “What is (the) most scientifically incorrect song lyric?” a whole lot of artistic licenses got revoked.
